Network Marketing Lead Information that Works!





“I just need a good network marketing lead! I’ve talked to everyone insight and none of my family or friends will talk to me.”

This is typical of most first time network marketers. There is a mentality that sounds like this, “All I need is the right person and my business will explode.”

This was my thinking until I went through my warm network marketing lead list of 300 people.

I had to ask, “What am I going to do now? If I don’t find some new prospects soon, my business will die”. I thought that a list of 300 people was large enough but it wasn’t.

I talked to friends in my network marketing company and they were ALL having the same problem. The light went on when I realized I had to look outside of the company to find a solution. My whole business was about to take a new turn.

A network marketing lead doesn't care about what I want. I learned that I had to focus on what they want.

I was asked this question by my mentor – “Where is the best place to put a hot dog stand?” I sat there with a deer caught in the headlights look on my face. She answered her own question with – “You put the hot dog stand in front of hungry people! It doesn’t matter if you have the best hot dogs in the world if nobody buys them. You can retire by selling so-so hot dogs to hungry people or starve to death trying to sell great hot dogs to people who aren’t hungry!!!”

I was hungry for leads but where could I find them? I had to ask – “Where do they hangout? What are their interests and hobbies? What problems do they have that I have a solution for? Where are they looking for help? How will they find me? What do I need to attract them?”

So I looked online.

I tried various lead companies online.

After calling a couple hundred of these leads, I learned that there are 3 differences in lead quality.

1. There is the cheap network marketing lead. These leads generally have no idea about network marketing. Many are initially hostile, wondering why you are calling. I had one father tell me that his 7 year old son is constantly looking for money making things online. After I listened to him I could only laugh, imagining my own grandson requesting online information.

2. Then there is the lead that is interviewed. Usually these are asked about these qualifications, budget, and time commitment, how serious are they, past experience, what fields are they interested in and so on.

These leads are more expensive and can definitely break your bank if you don’t know how to establish a relationship with them.

3. The network marketing lead that you generate yourself. This lead is priceless. This lead is generated through your own marketing efforts and you own it.

You can generate your own leads for a lot less than lead companies will charge. This alone could save you hundreds of dollars that you could use more productively.

If a network marketing lead company can get in front of hungry people, so can you. If you don’t generate your own leads you will be at the mercies of lead generating companies. You don’t own your business unless you own the leads.

The value of a lead that you own is huge. Not only are they interested and hungry but if they don’t join you in business, they may become a customer.

In the future, you can offer other opportunities and products and get referrals. Consider emailing a monthly newsletter promoting your products and opportunity.

Encourage them to give you information on how to improve your service. Next, tailor your response to meet their need. Listening to their needs will build a successful business. Beware! Not all network marketing lead companies are looking out for your best interests. Here are a few things to consider.

How old are their leads?

Are they interviewed?

How are they generated?

Are the same leads given to others or are they exclusive?

How long have they been in business?

Do they have referrals?

That concludes the overview of developing a lead strategy. Remember, it is all about creating yourself as a brand of one. Nobody cares about a product or opportunity but they do care whether or not you can deliver as promised. Businesses are built on trust. Customers trust that your product will deliver the results promised. Business partners trust that you can help them grow a successful business.
