Network Marketing Oil Spill
Americans have long had an unswerving belief that technology will save us — it is the cavalry coming over the hill, just as we are about to lose the battle. And yet, as Americans watched scientists struggle to plug the undersea well over the past month, it became apparent that our great belief in technology was perhaps misplaced. Read more here: Will technology save network marketers? Some think that technology is the answer to every problem that we have. But as you can see with the oil spill and the Gulf of Mexico, technology is not always the answer. Many people in network marketing look at technology and Internet marketing as the answer to the problem. The problem with this kind of thinking is that they haven't really researched any of the applications that technology has to offer. There is so much to learn in the online marketing field. Like how to set up a website, How to set up a blog, How to build a landing page, How to do YouTube channel, How to use Facebook to market your business and the list goes on. Once you have mastered this list there's the whole matter of making phone calls, keeping in touch with leads, giving them valuable information and then training them on line or over the phone. As you can see this is no easy endeavor. It is not something to be learned through reading a book, going to a seminar or having a high school student put up a website for you. It is something that you need to look to an expert to for help along the way. Yes, technology is a wonderful thing but it does not take the place of experience over time. I was recently reading a book called Blink. It told the story of a war veteran that was placed in charge of an exercise that the Pentagon was doing. His role was to be the enemy defending his country against the full force of the United States military. In the book Blink, he used his vast military experience in combat situations and was able to disable the United States military within a couple days by using unconventional strategies. He did not depend on technology but delivered messages and orders by motorcycle and personal courier. His decisions were based on his intuitive knowledge of what would work in a high pressure situation. On this Memorial Day, I would like to thank all of those who served in the military and extend my appreciation for all those who have given their lives in the defense of our country. It is also my hope that people use common sense to solve problems like the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Sometimes a simple solution is better than all of the technology that the world has to offer. I’m reminded of a story I heard as a child about a truck that was stuck in a tunnel because it was too high to fit through. City officials brought in engineers, the police force and the finest brains that the city could muster. But nobody could find a way to get the truck out of the tunnel. It was then that a little boy came up to the police officer and suggested that they let the air out of the tires and lower the truck. By doing that, the truck was freed from the tunnel and the problem was solved in a matter of minutes. What simple solutions might you have that go beyond technology and might solve your network marketing problems? Do you know an expert that has the experience you desire? Give me a call for a free coaching session if you need help. Sometimes the cavalry is just a phone call away. Happy Memorial Day!
